What does Feng Shui mean? Feng is the Chinese word for Wind and Shui means Water. We can look at the devastation that has happened in our country this year by wind and water being out of balance. Terrible flooding as well as devastating droughts and record breaking number of tornadoes that have been the strongest in decades and the year is only half over. Hurricane season has now arrived as you on the East Coast well are aware of. Keeping your water element in balance in your own home and office is always smart for good cash flow, investment increase, emotional balance, and career stability as well. In Feng Shui we work with the 5 elemental cycle to keep all the elements in balance. (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water) Each element effects the balance of the rest. Let's look at Water. Water when balanced creates great communication, cash flow and clarity Water when out of balance creates the oppisite. Lack of Clarity and poor cash flow
Water can be introduced into your environment by a few clever different applications. One is color and water can be applied by using blue and black. In the Feng Shui creative cycle of the elements Metal produces Water. So bringing in the colors of metal produces water metal Metal can be applied by the colors of white, silver and gold. Now on the other hand if you have too much water you can dam up the water using the colors that represent Earth, such as yellow, orange and brown. The next way to bring in the water element is with shapes. Using water symbols such as a meandering snake like or river like symbols. Example would be using wallpaper, or fabrics and pillows with wavy art. Metal symbols can produce water and the shape for metal is a dome type symbol. If too much water is the problem then use the Earth symbol of squares to calm down the water. Naturally you can bring in the actual element as well such as a water fountain, fish bowl or tank, water plants work really well. Reflective surfaces act as a water feature such as mirrors and multi cut crystals that create a prism when in the sun. For Metal you can bring in metal accessories, lamps or metal frames. Earth is easy to introduce into an area with items made from earth such as brick, terra cotta, ceramic is a great way to get the water under control. It is always fun and rewarding when one of my Feng Shui clients gets back to me and lets me know how a simple change or two has created the Flow in their life they desired. For over 20 years I have studied with the Feng Shui Masters and have come to deeply respect the Feng Shui really does work. Even as Tom and I travel in our RV, each time we set up camp, the first thing I do is set the RV Feng Shui up. I will be studying once again this year in mid December with Master of Feng Shui Lillian Too and learning the 'Cures' for The Chinese New Year of the Water Dragon which starts on Jan 23 of 2012. Updates will be available after Dec 15th so remember to make your 2012 updates appointment. To make a Feng Shui Appointment click here Click here for more Feng Shui Tips
