| In talking with clients all around the country, how to loose weight and get rid of fat is one of the most common questions asked. So this edition I am going to look into simple approaches to help us in this pursuit of getting rid of excess fat. We all want to look our best and we may not like seeing those extra pounds reflecting back in the mirror. Looks are one thing but did you know that most of the toxins in the body are stored in fat cells. When we are exposed to external toxins in the air or water our body will filter out and pass through as best it can to get them out of our system. Now when our body is not running at it's best or an over abundance of toxins are introduced, the body will store what it cannot currently process in Fat Cells to be dealt with latter. These fat cells can hold on to toxins for years. If a Detox or Good sweat is not provided regularly then the fat cells may give up their toxins and they start leaking out into the surrounding tissues. You can have a slow-leak batch of fat cells that are poisoning you constantly. Much of the disease that plagues mankind certainly comes from the constant slow leak of toxins from these fat cells. No wonder so many of us feel a loss of energy and plagued by odd symptoms that seem to grow daily. Good blood flow helps to carry off these toxins. Fat cells, like the millions of others, are all within a fraction of an inch of some capillary, but IF that capillary is sluggish or clogged (as most often they are), there is not much chance for those toxins to be cleaned up by the flow of blood. In my experience I have seen this is the major cause of most headaches and especially migraines. The capillaries in the head are often very clogged which interferes with red blood cell flow carrying your oxygen supply to the brain. This will cause the pain letting you know your all important oxygen flow is poor. Niacin Flush One way I have found to keep the blood flowing and in turn moving out the toxins is to do a Niacin Flush. Niacin, also called B-3, can be found at any Health food store. By increasing the amount of Niacin to the point that you experience a Flush effect, you help clear out the capillaries. (More detailed info can be found at www.doctoryourself.com/niacin.html Who knew something so simple as niacin can really help with flushing fat and cleaning up the miles of blood supply you have as well. Niacin has been shown to be helpful for many Health Challenges - Long term severe depression
- Heart disease
- Dermatitis
- Digestion problems
- Anxiety
- Insomnia
- Hyperactivity
- Mental fatigue
- Lowers harmful cholesterol
- Rises good cholestrol
- just to name a few.
Staying with the fat flush theme I would like to introduce you to the Hormone Leptin. This guy causes all kinds of trouble. Your fat cells create a powerful hormone known as leptin that controls your appetite, energy and metabolism as well as letting your brain know it is ok to shed excess fat. Leptin is the primary reason for food cravings, overeating, poor metabolism and heart disease. Balanced Leptin levels help to regulate immunity, maintain healthy blood pressure and support cognitive function. High Leptin levels have been found in people with hypothyroidism and heart disease. Overweight people have been found to have high Leptin levels. Studies have found that Leptin acts like insulin in which your cells become resistant to the Leptin which then the body has a hard time getting the Leptin pass the blood brain barrier letting the hypothalamus know you are full and do not need to store fat and your metabolism then speeds up allowing for excess calories or fat to be shed. Your blood levels of Leptin can be high but your brain is so low in Leptin your brain thinks you are in a starving state and this will not alow you to loose weight no matter what you do. Another way this guy spells trouble is it inhibits Cortisol production at critical times such as in the morning when Cortisol is needed to feel awake and energized. There are several supplements or herbs you can take that studies have proven to lower leptin levels which are Melatonin, L Carnitine and Irvingia.
