As the year comes to a close and the holidays approach, what better time to let go of that which no longer serves you.

One person's Clutter can be another's treasure. Of course the opposite can also be true, so use discernment.

Recently I was reading an article in the latest edition of Lillian Toos Feng Shui World printed in Kuala Lumpur Malasia about declutterng. Her article was the catalyst of this Feng Shui Tip. Her original article can be found on page 40 of her Nov/Dec issue.

Where did all this STUFF come from?
Ever look around your house and have this question?

STUFF ... Self Tethering Unused Furniture and Fictures.

What about the clutter in your closest, your office.

What about the extra STUFF held onto in your emoitons and thoughts.

This build up of STUFF then becomes the silent killer known as stress.

A good way to begin the new year and a great stress reliever is to get the junk out of body, mind and spirit.

Remember Your home also represents your physical body

Make a list of all that you will need to start clearing the junk

  • Heavy duty trash bags or boxes to gather things in for donation.
  • Phone calls to others that might benefit from what you no longer are using.
  • Perhaps help or how long you intend for this project to take.
  • Really outline this process and stick to the outline
Get organized
  • Spend 20 minutes in each room with a notebook and list what goes, what needs repair, who is going to do it and the time you anticipate the room to be done in.
  • Assign a level of priority to each room.
Start with the room that is lowest priority and end with the room most important so as to be sure you get the job done.

Convert one room into a workroom where you can place everything that you want to sell, donate or repair.

Extra Credit
  • Paint each room after you have cleared so as to state a New Beginging...out with the old and in with the new.
  • Wash the curtains and hang objects in the window that capture the sunlight bringing in Yang energy of the sun.
  • Open the windows in each room and fill the home with breeze of the new day
Extra Extra Credit
  • Now do the same process for your body, mind, emotions
  • CLEAR OUT THE CLUTTER

Your home and your body will both benefit a great deal from this yearly cleansing and now lets talk about the emotional and spiritual clearing

I've also included an article in this newsletter with additional ways on how to clear out the emotional clutter.

Hope you enjoy your new space.........  Anita
